In an earlier email about a Gold Star Mother, whose son was in the 8th I.D., went to Viet Nam and was KIA.His name was John A. Franklin. He was in Co. C 2nd Bn 509th Air Borne, 8th I.D. I asked his mother what city or town he was stationed in, and she mentioned Baumholder,
He was in Germany last part of 1966 to about the middle of 1967. I think he was killed in 1967 sometime. One other member of our local Viet Nam chapter was with him when he died. And he was wounded at the same time, John was KIA. Both were in the 101st A.B., (Screaming Eagles).
We would like tosee if anyone might remember him. I have his mother's phone number, and can get her mailing address, if needed. She lives just barely in North Georgia, just outside Chattanooga. P.O.C. is the email drop box on this page ! please reference the person's name when emailing ...we will forward your email address or phone number on to the posting party
